Pure color joy diptych art. It’s a modern abstract expressionist oil painting in two panels including the words “Only Love” in wild graffiti style. Expressive strokes in red, yellow, copper and gold overlap a solid gray to white grate pattern. Beneath it all, you’ll see an abstract painted background of lush full spectrum color fields.

This painting grew in a joyous evolutionary artistic process. I was listening to a lot of U2 at the time, and the currently new song “Magnificent” was in high rotation while I painted. The artwork was originally intended to be an abstract composition as simple as the background layer. I wasn’t satisfied with the amount of visual depth I’d achieved. The gray to white grate was inspired by the song’s lyrics about the scars love can heal. At  that point, I had to go full Basquiat and cover up those “scars” with some color “only love” graffiti style text to make the visuals “come forward.” I included the expressive words “only love.”
