Always delighted to get back to working on fiber, here's the latest nuno-felt scarf from Melasdesign Handmade Shop. The amazingly lightweight silk was hand-processed in a shibori method creating the most gorgeous silver with a darker, slightly rust hued pattern of repeated dots and diagonal lines. I then embellished it by felting in a wool / silk fiber mixture to define the edges and a few wavy lines to mimic the Wensleydale wool curls at the end of this wearable art scarf. The scarf measures 11"x54" with 2.5" fringe. Read more about the nuno-felting process in my blog.
